Great is the Lord!

We give our God all the glory and praise for this past trip to Haiti.  In Psalm 145 David sings a song of praise to our Great Lord.

" The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made" Psalms 145:9

Because of God and his strength and guidance a team of 43 students and chaperones had the opportunity to travel to and from Haiti and serve him.

What a fruitful and amazing trip for all.  Safety and really overall health for each of us, along with life transformation.

Thank you for sharing your Sons and Daughters and supporting them to "GO" on this trip.  I pray they have been transformed in "Him"  The students did a great job in serving, helping, and sharing who God is.  We have been very blessed to have led MVCS students to Haiti since 2011 and are now preparing to move to Haiti permanently to serve full time on the mission field.  We have a nonprofit organization called Ministere des Bras Ouverts. (translation: open arms ministry) and will remain in connection with Monte Vista in the future.  We have opportunities for you to come serve at anytime.  You can visit the website at mbohaiti.org.

Monte Vista will be going back to Haiti with some great leaders from the school in January of 2016.  Please pray about this and many of the students have indicated they would like to return.  We also have summer opportunities and internships available.  We are excited for what God has planned and Thank you for continued support and prayers.  This is a relationship we would always like to maintain.  If you would like to be put on our monthly update, blog please email me at amy@mbohaiti.org  or up until May 28 amyrivas@mvcs.org.

Students are great!! Everyone is safe and healthy they are all doing such an awesome job!!  Enjoy a few pictures check my personal Facebook for  updates.  We have no WiFi so this is hard to upload photos to the blog.   This is been such an amazing trip and again to reassure you. All is well

April Haiti Trip:   We are still in need of $$ donation for the windows in the church.  The team in November raised enough for 6 windows and they are now installed.  They need 6 more to finish the Church.

Each window is $257.00    Please write a check to Ministere des Bras Ouverts  you can also donate on mbohaiti.org  go to the Donate button.  You can pay with your credit card, and in the notes state what you will be donating the money for "Church Windows"

Any other donation Money donated to the ministry will be matched.  We have a donor currently who is willing to match all donations!!

A few Updates

'If you are looking to donate $$ for mission projects, trees, cows and goats, Please do not pay to MVCS  the money, check goes to Ministere des Bras Ouverts and you can drop it off to Mrs. Rivas

For the required donation list, you are to pack that in your own luggage.  If you have a second bag(not preferred)  I will only pay if it is donation items not extra clothing and your own food.  Please pack wisely. Baggage fees are expensive and difficult to pay for all second bags.  You can bring two carry ons the plane.  Just no liquids in the bags to carry on the plane.

for your sleeping mat, it it rolls up you can carry it on the plane so it does not take up room in the bags.

HAITI MEETING

VERY IMPORTANT MEETING.

Monday March 9 at 6:00  we need all participants to be there!!

Dr. Dover will be there, he will have available malaria medicine, mosquito nets, and repellent.  Bring $ to pay for these items.

We will also have a Notary available to sign the traveling minor form.  BOTH parents need to be present and with ID.  I will have the Notary start signing right when she arrives.  Please make plans to be present, or you will have to make arrangements on your own.

I need these forms and the other forms along with a copy of the passport on this night.

Day 3 Mexico Mission trip

Monte Vista Students working to clean up the yard at Grace Children's home.

Fun day being filled with acts of service , playing and building relationships with the kids and gratitude from the Mexican people.  The students did great!!  It was a hard work day.

Mexico Day 2

The students completed construction on a feeding program!!  We prayed with the family and his feeding ministry, built new relationships and meet with the Pastor of the community.  It was a great Day

WE made it Safely to Mexico.  The Students are doing great!!   Not great service here so I will do the best I can to update you all

Yesterday we went straight to a feeding program.  We served about 30 kids lunch.  These are children that come to this church everyday to receive a meal.  For many of them it is the only meal of the day!!

After, we played soccer and games with the children, practiced our spanish and built some special relationships.

The campus here at YUGO is great.  Great food and sleeping accommodations  We had chapel last night and ended the night praising the Lord for his power and glory.

Today we will be constructing a roof over another feeding program close to campus!  They have waited nine years for God to provide and because of this team we can now help them with this protection.

we will also love on some special kids

Pray for strength and completion of the job.  And pray forGods light to shine brightly on the Mexican people.

If anyone can bring jump ropes, frisbees,  bubbles any type of ball to donate for the Kids!  We need as many as possible.

Windows and Trees

The windows are done and have been put into the church in Cabaret.  

 Thank you for all of those who helped with donations from the November Team.  We where able to pay for six of the twelve needed for the church.

 Lots of trees planted for the people of Bercy.  The team raised money and planted several fruit trees.  They are doing well and pray the fruit will help nourish the people of upper Bercy

 Big job to install the windows at the church, but the work is complete
